Williams Family Loft

Congratulations to the newest member of the Williams Family Loft team....

Brandon Williams, age 9 has become a Jr. Member of the AU and will be participating in his 1st race this year...The 10th annual National youth race 2007.

Brandon is already a great handler and has been interested in the birds since he was 5. He and his Dad have shared in this sport and we felt that he was ready to become a member of the AU and share in the responsibility of the birds.

He has been given 4 pairs of breeders and has full control of them and their young ones. Brandon has a natural knack for the pigeons and sports in general.

We expect great things from this little guy!

Pigeon Talk

Breeding season has come to an end and we have shifted our attention to the young birds. Everything is going great. The birds are in a good moult and they look sharp. It all seems a little easier to me now that I've got the hang of it. This race season ought to be a good one!

What I learned:

I learned that its best to send youngsters straight from their parents to other lofts . We want them to be broken to their new home and we find that this helps to do that. I also learned that it helps to get youngsters out soon after weaning them. If you wait too long they will be too strong and take off and get lost.
