Featured Feathers:" ONA WIM"  AU-06-CBS-3091 BB Hen

Recently we have added to our long distance line and we think this Bordeaux hen has what we are looking for. "Ona Wim" is a blend of Janssen, Van Wanroy, and Jan Aardens and more importantly her sire is a proven breeder and her dam is a proven racer. This family can go the distance, 500+. She is a truly a sight to behold!

Pigeon Talk: Last month on Featured Feathers I wished for a 1st Combine win, well, on Nov.10th, we won both the A and B race! In the A race we placed 1st, 2nd, 5th,6th,7th,12th, and in the B race 1st - 5th! Needless to say, we were very proud of our birds. We are also proud to say that on the Greater New Orleans Combine "Bird of the Year Report" 5 out of the top 11 birds were bred by us. This is good news! We will be posting all of our race results on the website soon...What a Race Season! Too bad the race season ended because those flying horses were just getting started. We'll see you fellows come Old Birds...(Hi guys!)

In addition to an exciting race season, we were informed that we won the 2007 Showcase Loft of the Year. I am so happy about that win, especially for Byron. It is such a compliment to be awarded for his hard work. Thank all of you who voted for us.

What I learned: Not too long ago, I received an email from the Netherlands from a man named Wim Van Rijk. He introduced himself and his website to us. I'm amazed at how in a short time, he has become like an old friend. We have much to learn from each other in the pigeon racing sport. In fact, I learned of the Van Wanroy family from him. He has some Wanroys. They are his favorite breed. They are an old family that still carries on today! This is obvious with the Bordeaux family..(Their story can be found on www.cbspigeon.com). When I set my sights on Au-06-CBS-3091, on I-pigeon, I knew that she belonged to me. I wasn't looking to buy, but I did, on a whim. That is part of why I named her, Ona Wim, the other is that I can always remember that Wim Van Rijk introduced me to the Van Wanroy line. His website is www.wimvanrijk.nl . Making friends abroad is just another reason why this sport is so GREAT!!!!!

Happy Holidays From Our Loft To Yours
